Hello, February! We shared on Monday our focus for the month (and some amazing & free desktop backgrounds), but we wanted to stop in again to join the Currently February linkup with Jenna of Gold & Bloom and Anne of In Residence. The “Currently” posts are some of our favorites, because we get to step back and show a little of what’s happening behind the curtain of Letter Me Loved. We have a lot in store for this month, and we can’t wait to share it all with you!
Sarah: February is filled with several of my dear friends’ birthdays. I am sending birthday cards, but also wishing I was with so many of these friends to celebrate in person. Luckily a few of the friends do live close, and I am looking forward to delivering those cards in person!
Jenny: I love hand lettering for lots of reasons, but here are my main two: 1) There’s always new and fun techniques to try and 2) I get to make beautiful things for people to enjoy. I’m sending one of my hand lettering experiments (above) to a special friend who is in need of some serious office decorations. Hoping it will brighten her day – and let her know that this friend loves her very much!
Sarah: In January I enjoyed trying lots of new recipes. I am trying to make healthier choices and eat vegetables creatively. One night we ate cabbage instead of noodles for a stir fry, and I have been utilizing my new spiralizer and replacing spaghetti noodles with zucchini. Would love to hear your favorite recipes using a spiralizer!
Jenny: At Andrew Michael’s Italian Kitchen this weekend! For those who are not familiar with Memphis cuisine, it’s a local – and fancy – Italian restaurant, and Daniel and I are going for the first time this weekend to celebrate an exciting accomplishment in my life. Though I’ve never been, Sarah’s told me all about it and my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Italian food is my favorite food!
Sarah: (Of all the desserts….see answer to eating.) But really, I am dreaming of vacation! Matt and I are planning a week long trip to Charleston in April and I am so excited to spend time together and explore a new city. We love time with family, but there is something so valuable about getting away just the two of us. Any recommendations while we are in Charleston?
Jenny: Literally? I’ve been watching too much Gilmore Girls because I dreamed about Rory and Lorelai last night. Figuratively? I’m dreaming about more warm weather days like the ones we had this past weekend – with disc golf and bike rides and walks along the river. I hate wishing the year away, but can I wish the weather away?
Sarah: Brussel Sprouts. I tried this new recipe on Sunday and it was delicious… I mean I really love sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts. But my whole house smelled like brussel sprouts for days. Then I brought the left-overs to work and my office smelled like brussel sprouts all afternoon. So, I enjoyed the recipe, but need a break from the smell!
Jenny: Right now I’m smelling the fresh, beautiful flowers my mother-in-law sent me. (She’s pretty much the best MIL ever.) Plants are another great way to brighten up your desk and get the creativity flowing. Click here to read our other five steps for creating a motivational workspace.
Jenny: My new camera! It came in this past weekend and I haven’t been able to stop playing with it. It’s a Canon Rebel T6i,* and it’s pretty much perfect. I even picked up a 50mm f/1.8 lens* for it, and now I understand why photographers/bloggers love it so much. I am going to start A Beautiful Mess’s online DSLR course this week so I can slowly but surely improve my skills. (Full disclosure: The * indicates an affiliate link, but I promise to only do that for products I absolutely “heart!”)
Your turn! Please leave us a comment (or a link to your blog post) telling what you’re sending, eating, dreaming, smelling and hearting for “Currently” February Edition.
