What small details do you remember from a family holiday tradition or event that stick out in your mind? Was it a special serving plate your grandma always used at Christmas? Or the personalized touches your friends planned for a shower? Small details make all the difference and really shape the memories we carry.
Jenny and I shared a recipe on Monday from a bridal shower we had the privilege to host this month for a close friend. The shower was intimate and laid back, but we tried to incorporate small fun details that made the day special for the bride.
Today we are going to share 5 of our favorite bridal shower details:
1. Hand-lettered invitations that go along with the theme.
In today’s internet age, I sometimes miss paper! Jenny designed a beautiful hand-lettered invite that we sent to the bride’s friends and family. Don’t get us wrong, we did send a digital image to friends at church, but it was fun to send a paper invitation too!
2. Personalized favor for your guests.
We chose to order adorable mint flavored chapstick with the bride & groom’s names along with “mint to be.” And since everyone loves edible favors, we added York peppermint patties that happened to be shaped like hearts for Valentines.
3. As many cute garlands as you can get your hands on.
I made a tissue paper tassel garland to go along with the theme using this tutorial. The tassels paired perfectly with a cute felt heart garland I purchased from a friend. I also displayed a burlap and heart garland I made a couple years ago. Garland overload? No such thing!
4. Dessert and flowers make the perfect centerpiece.
For dessert, we served Bundtinis – cutest name ever – from Nothing Bundt Cakes. they were so beautiful we utilized them as part of our centerpiece along with flowers in mason jars and candles. We are all about easy and cute ways to decorate!
5. A feasible, fun menu.
On Monday, we posted the recipe for our mini fruit pizzas and told you about the brunch food served at the shower. Overall, the food was feasible, fun, colorful and may I say, delicious! The pink mimosa’s Jenny served were a crowd favorite and tied to the theme perfectly.
Well, it’s hard to chose five favorite bridal shower details (or even just five favorite pictures) because we had so much fun planning this wedding shower and seeing our ideas come to life! What are your favorite details to incorporate when you host friends and family? Big or small, we would love to hear!
